Haworthia sordida
var. sordida
Haw.
This beauty from the Eastern Cape
South Africa, North of Port
Elizabeth is a slow grower, but is
not difficult in cultivation. Sordida
means "dirty" and grows with an
adhering dirt layer in its natural habitat.
This goes away in cultivation revealing
a reptilian beauty that varies from
dark green to almost black.
A well drained soil, water when it is dry
and when sunny (drying) weather is
forecast. It grows well in bright light to
full sun, and will get darker in full sun.
