We found this monster called the giant tortoise by the locals, it is officially the African Spurred Tortoise, Geochelone sulcata.   This was a little guy and probably only weighed 80 pounds and measured 18 inches from the front to the back.  The closer I got the further his head shrunk back into the shell.
