When I think of a type locality of a plant, I think of a hillside where it was first discovered and of a large surrounding area, perhaps hundreds of kilometers across where the plant occurs.  This photo shows the type locality of Haworthia magnifica var splendens, an obscure rock pile about 3 meters across and 6 meters long.  This is not only the type locality of Haworthia magnifica splendens, but you are looking at the entire habitat of this entire population.  There are perhaps 30 to 40 Haworthias here, but that is all.
