One of the great joys on this trip was all the other stuff we saw.  I came to South Africa to look at Haworthias, but I was not going to shut my eyes when we saw other interesting sights.  Part of my journey in understanding of what made Haworthias thrive is learning about the other plants that grow along side then.   Here are some of the plants (and a tortoise) spotted along the Breede River south of Swellendam, all seen on May 7th.  Remember, any Haworthia.com photo can be enlarged by clicking.
